Tuailah padi antara masak
Esok jangan layu-layuan
Intailah kami antara nampak
Esok jangan rindu-rinduan
Anak cina pasang lukah
Lukah dipasang di Tanjung Jati
Di dalam hati tidak ku lupa
Sebagai rambut bersimpul mati
Batang selasih permainan budak
Daun sehelai dimakan kuda
Bercerai kasih bertalak tidak
Seribu tahun kembali juga
Burung merpati terbang seribu
Hinggap seekor di tengah laman
Hendak mati di hujung kuku
Hendak berkubur di tapak tangan
Kalau tuan mudik ke hulu
Carikan saya bunga kemboja
Kalau tuan mati dahulu
Nantikan saya di pintu syurga
those favourites words from gurindam jiwa. he was 79 when he passed away this morning. what a man. he must have been inspired by something, someone, somewhere when he penned those words. his life continued as an visual artist after that song. i suppose it came once and it was enough to blow people off their feet. yes, he was a one hit wonder but i don't think he brought with him any hard feelings. his paintings were as wonderful as his words. *sigh* i love that song.
went to the gym yesterday after a very long break from it. i have to keep goin to the gym. 10 more months, babe!
i can't wait for 27 Aug. why? cos i get to exercise my right as a citizen of singapore! hehe... i get to vote for the very first time! that is, if we don't suffer get another walkover. i beg you, PAP, i want to vote! please let the others pass through the selection. but you know ah.. it's very wierd leh.. like you have a panel to select the potential president, right? and am sure the panel was chosen by the govt, right? so does that mean whoever the panel choses to run are inevitably endorsed by the govt? something else that is unique to singapore is while other countries will take months to run for presidency (the speeches, rallies all..), we only need about 10 days to psycho people to vote for the president. so fast ah? and also, why can't they just do the elections on a weekday, man? do elections on sat... no fun. BUT it's ok. am set to pen that tick on that piece of paper... my first!
